Zofia Kowalewska’s documentary “Cloes Ties” is among the 10 shortlisted films. Nominations for the 89th Oscars will be announced on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

The film “Close Ties”, made under the artistic supervision of Paweł Łoziński, was produced by the Munk Studio. It tells a story of a couple, Barbara and Zdzisław, who had been married for 45 years. However, the recent eight years they spent apart Zdzislaw staying at his lady friend’s place. Only recently he moved back with Barbara. They did not realize that moving back together will be so difficult.

So far, the film has already won a few prizes, among them the Silver Dragon Prize at the Krakow Film Festival, (" a warm and full of humour film; moving and well carried our reflection on love, loyalty and forgiveness", and the Prize for a Documentary at the Koszalin Film Festival "Młodzi & Film" ("full of beauty and tenderness depiction of a human being rich in a skill of reaching to the deepest emotions".)
